The Newcastle-based KIPSBAY is unbeaten this time in and looks well placed here to make it four-straight in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Capitalist gelding took no prisoners as he put more than three lengths on his rivals in a BM72 Hcp, here over 1200m. He covered the journey, 6 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best here to the topweight (Tristate) who jumps from the car park here (gate 16). Koby Jennings has been aboard for both victories this preparation and remains in charge for this event. Fitter for those two successful runs, he will take beating here.

The Maher and Eustace-trained CADRE DU NOIR has struck top form of late and looks a serious chance for the hat-trick here. Last start, the American-bred galloper destroyed his rivals in the Listed City Tatts Cup (2400m) when he put more than five lengths on them on a Heavy 9 that day. He ran his last 600m, 3.4 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here. He also recorded the fastest final 800m, 600m and 400m sectionals for the race. The stable has him peaking at the right time and with James McDonald going for his second win on the six-year-old, he will take beating in this contest.

Gary Portelli saddles-up ARCTIC THUNDER here who is third-up and ticks all the boxes for a victory here. Last start, the Headwater mare finished just behind the placegetters in a BM100 Hcp, here over 1400m. Beaten less than two lengths that day, she ran her last 600m, 5.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. She is a two-time winner at the track and has two wins from three previous third-up runs as well. Jason Collett has saluted on the mare twice in four rides and sticks with her for this assignment. With a trouble-free run here, she can figure at odds in this field.
