Race 4:  No.3  WORTHILY  ($6 with Palmerbet) 

The Maher & Eustace-trained WORTHILY is second-up here and seeing Rosehill for the first time, looks a genuine contender. Last start, the five-year-old was fresh off a six-month absence when he impressed by finishing third in a BM90 over the mile on the big Flemington track. He ran that out, 9.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, setting a new personal best and the best last-start effort in here. Already a winner when second-up and a winner over the 1600m, Brenton Avdulla has the job here where the galloper looks right in the mix.

Race 8:  No.5  MIRRA VISION  ($5.50 with Unibet)

The Team Snowden-trained MIRRA VISION is now three starts into this preparation and should be ready to fire at barrier rise. Last start, the well-bred Lonhro mare came off an unplaced run in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) when she tackled the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington and surprised many (at $61) as she came within half a length of victory, finishing second to Icebath. She ran the trip out, 10.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. She returns to Sydney where she is already a two-time winner at the track and will find this contest a lot easier. Josh Parr sticks with her and down 2kgs on her last run, she only needs an ounce of luck (from the wide draw) to pose a real threat to this field.

Race 9:  No.13  Sneaky Paige  ($12 with bet365)

The Mark Newnham-trained SNEAKY PAIGE is in great touch of late and looks well placed here (at odds) to give this contest a real shake. Last start, the Deep Field mare put in her best performance when she took home third prize in the Group 3 Begonia Belle Stakes over 1100m at Flemington. Sent out a $41 chance, she handled the Flemington straight well as she came from back in the field to finish just over a length behind race winner, Asfoora. She recorded the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals for that race, which is promising form for this event. Back to Sydney now where Tyler Schiller returns for the ride and his resume shows he has steered this mare to victory in all four career wins to date. The four-year-old also drops 2kgs here, coming in on the limit for this event. With a touch of luck from gate 12, she could surprise again and is well worth an each-way ticket here.
