Race 9:  No.17  ANOTHER WIL 

The Ciaron Maher-trained ANOTHER WIL was first emergency for this event but has gained a start after early scratchings and unbeaten in three starts this preparation, looks all set to add another picket to the fence in this contest. Last start, the Street Boss gelding brought-up the hat-trick with a demolition job of a BM84 over the Flemington mile. Jamie Kah rode him a treat and had the gelding settled outside the leader in a modest tempo to the turn. Kah then asked him for a final effort and he obliged. Leaving the rest of them to sort out the minors as he left them standing and crossed the line 4.5 lengths ahead of them. From gate four, he maps to settle in a similar position as last start and surely just bad luck beats him here.

Race 4:  No.8  TEXAS FIREBALL

The Matt Dunn-trained TEAXCS FIREBALL continues to impress and on form, looks a serious threat to this field. Last start, the Zoustar gelding put in another eye-catching performance when he proved too strong for them in winning an Open company event over the 1835m trip at Eagle Farm. That was his fourth top-two finish in five starts this time in and he put icing on the cake by running the trip in 1:51.1, setting a new track record for the distance. The three-year-old is shaping-up to be something pretty special and looks a tad over the odds in this contest.

Race 5:  No.4  HELL HATH NO FURY

Annabel Neasham saddles-up HELL HATH NO FURY here who looks much better suited in this company and is a strong winning chance at big odds. Last start, the Hellbent mare was coming off outstanding career-best form when she took on the big guns and missed out, finishing four lengths behind Zougotcha in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) on this track. Back to Group 2 level here and Jason Collett returns to take charge after already steering the mare to three of her four career wins. She draws out (8) here and maps to settle mid-field and with a touch of luck from there, she can figure here at very generous each-way odds.
