Race 4 No. 7 PROMISES KEPT- ($2.15)
PROMISES KEPT can break through in Race 7. The Greg Eurell-trained galloper looks like he wants the 2200m and just missed out at Pakenham two starts ago over the 1600m before tackling the Group 2 Autumn Classic (1800m) and running 9th behind Pericles, who is the favoured runner in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) on Saturday. He produced the third fastest last 400m against some serious opposition to go 4.5 lengths faster than standard benchmark off a slow tempo. This is a huge drop in class and he can run over the top of them late.

Race 6 No. 2 GENERAL FIREPOWER – ($4.20)
A field of just six runners line up in Race 6 and it is GENERAL FIREPOWER that can chalk up an overdue win. The Mike Moroney-trained galloper has had two runs this time in and needed the run at Pakenham when resuming before finishing 3rd at Sandown on March 1 behind Greenhill Prince. Third up last time he was an improver on benchmark figures when 4th at Sandown before finishing runner-up at Flemington behind Flash Feeling in a stronger race than this. The four-year-old might push across from barrier 6 and is the one to run down.
