Sandown Tips 15/3/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 7 No. 7  LADY COURT- ($3.80)

LADY COURT shapes as an interesting contender in Race 7. The Peter Moody-trained galloper resumes from a long spell and the market just before the jump might be the best guide. But she has been rock solid in her three runs, winning one and placing on two. The four-year-old had a one start campaign last year, stepping out at the Lakeside circuit over the 1400m in a BenchMark 70, finishing runner-up behind Our Birdsong. The daughter of American Pharaoh has attracted early market support and will be ridden by Luke Nolen

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No. 6  ASPEN COLORADO – ($4.40)

Liked the return of ASPEN COLORADO in Race 8 and it might be worth sticking with the Lindsey Smith-trained galloper. He resumed at Moonee Valley on February 10 and was posted worse than midfield in the run before being held up as they rounded. The five-year-old flew late once he got out to get up on the line. The lightly raced galloper rises in grade but should be open to improvement second up and gets the steer from Damien Oliver.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 3 No. 6 RAKOMELO – ($10)

RAKOMELO might be worth a play at the each-way quote in Race 3. The Godolphin galloper looks to have come back in good order and was a first up winner at Kembla Grange on January 31 before heading to Canterbury and finishing 4th in a BenchMark 64 behind Ningaloo Star. The son of Lonhro was trapped in a bit of a pocket at a vital time in the straight before landing two lengths away. The stable head south for this assignment and the 1300m looks like it suits third up.
