Race 2 No. 6 THE UNICORN- ($1.95)

Some promising fillies feature in Race 2 and THE UNICORN can make the step up to BenchMark 64 level after trouncing her rivals in a Maiden at Mornington over the 1200m on October 30. On that occasion, the Waterhouse/Bott galloper led and cruised to win by just under four lengths, while there was a similar gap back to 3rd. That came on a Heavy track and she is likely to get similar conditions again here. Expect her to lead and take some running down.

Race 3 No. 1 TASMAN PARK- ($2.10)

Nice debut performance by TASMAN PARK at Bendigo on October 26 and the Mike Moroney can progress in Race 3. The four-year-old scored on a Heavy 9 over the 1100m by more than two lengths from Futuristic, while there was a four length gap back to 3rd. The son of Ocean Park went 1.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Likely to get ground with some give in it again and with any improvement he can make it two from two.

Race 7 No. 7 SECRET GLAMOUR- ($3.20)

Keen on SECRET GLAMOUR in Race 7 of the day at Sandown. The Maher/Eustace galloper resumed with a solid runner-up performance at Bendigo on October 26 behind Court Deep. She settled back on a slow tempo that day before looming as the winner, only to just miss late in the piece. Step to the 1600m suits and at her second run of her last campaign the daughter of Sebring improved seven lengths on benchmark figures to finish runner-up at Flemington before embarking on an ATC Oaks (2400m) campaign. She performs well on ground with give and the wide barrier might suit late in the day.

Race 1 No. 16 LADY JONES- ($4.40)

LADY JONES should find this a much easier assignment after stepping out at Flemington during the recent carnival. The three-year-old endured a tough run in the Listed Desirable Stakes (1400m) on Oaks day, posted five wide without cover before battling into 10th position, beaten five lengths. Prior to that, the daughter of Toronado pushed Quang Tri when runner-up behind that horse at Caulfield. She has gone faster than standard benchmark in both of those races and a similar performance here should see the Stephen Brown-trained galloper be hard to beat.
