BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.1  AFRICAN DAISY  ($3.50 with Palmerbet)

The Annabel Neasham-trained AFRICAN DAISY resumes off a 20-week spell today but with a good fresh record and two trials under her belt, she can take this contest out. Last start, she ended her last campaign on a low when drew the car park in gate 12 (of 12), forcing Ellen Hennessy to push forward and lead on settling. But class won out in the end as the American Pharoah mare weakened out of it to finish mid-field in a BM72 Hcp over 1800m in city class company at Rosehill. She returns to the country scene today facing a much easier task and drawn much better in gate five, maps to settle just behind the early speed. With a trouble-free run here, she can give this a real shake on fresh legs.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.2  LAMBDOMA ENERGY  ($8 with Palmerbet)

Wyong visitor, LAMBDOMA ENERGY, sees the Scone track for the first time today but looks well placed to give this contest a real shake. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding came off a 19-week break and on fresh legs, beat all but one home in a BM66 Hcp over 1100m at Gosford. He ran his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. He also posted a new personal best, covering the entire trip in even time. Rory Hutchings has the reins today and already placed twice in two previous second-up runs, he looks a genuine winning chance here in this easier assignment.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.5  BACK TO FRONT  ($7.50 with Palmerbet)

Local galloper BACK TO FRONT is fresh off a lengthy 30-week spell but looks well placed here after two recent trials and is capable of winning today. Last start, the Smart Missile gelding ended his last preparation by finishing fifth in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1100m. With Ashley Morgan aboard for his third ride on the gelding, he was slowly away that day and ran one-paced for most of the race, finishing six lengths adrift. Put out for almost eight months, he resumes here, fitter for a recent trial on this track, finishing second in the field of eight. He finished second when first-up in his last preparation and today has Ash Morgan sticking with him. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and should be finishing strongly in this contest.
