BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.5  BADDA BOOM BABY  ($2.70 with Ladbrokes)

The Annabel Neasham-trained BADDA BOOM BABY is third-up today and looks a solid chance of bouncing back to her best here. Last start, the Smart Missile filly came off a first-up win in a Newcastle Maiden when she was caught too far back at Kembla Grange, finishing mid-field in a BM64 Hcp over 1400m. Despite missing the podium, she still ran her last 600m, 5.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 5 lengths. She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. It’s Alysha Collett’s turn to take the reins today and down in grade today, the three-year-old should prove hard to hold out here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8:  No.5  EXTRA FLASH  ($4.40 with Palmerbet)

Brett Thompson saddles-up EXTRA FLASH here who is in good touch this time in and back from locking horns with city class horses, he looks set for a big effort today. Last start, the American-bred galloper came off a hat-trick of podium finishes when he ran into trouble at Randwick, finishing fifth in a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1000m. He was held-up at a vital point and missed out on a money finish, beaten three lengths in the 16-strong field. He still managed to run the trip, 6.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, a new personal best for him and the best in this field by 4 lengths. Returning to country racing today, he will find this contest a lot easier and has Clayton Gallagher back in saddle (after steering him to both career wins to date). Ideally drawn in gate four, a clear run home should see him tough to beat today.
