BEST BET 🏆
Race 2 No. 3 BONJOUR BLUE – ($4.40)
David Jolly applies the blinkers to BONJOUR BLUE who gets out to the mile while racing third-up this prep. The former Victorian trained galloper has been okay without the best of luck in his first two runs here. Made ground back to the inside after becoming held-up near the turn in a handy 1350 metre maiden field. Since lobbed into a good spot around midfield over the same trip for Barend Vorster. Continued to come on into the straight with the race already all but over. Looking for this trip now and can improve sharply with those couple of runs under the belt.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 2 OUR SHINING STAR – ($4.20)
Chief Handicapper Craig Kutcher tasked OUR SHINING STAR with the higher end of the benchmark scale following her gutsy maiden win in town. The filly jumped cleanly under Kayla Crowther to lead from well off the fence over 1050 metres. She turned for home in front with the big Morphettville straight ahead of her. She became attacked from both sides yet denied all including subsequent metro winner Validated. There’s hot pace drawn to the inside for Nichola Yuen to stalk early before presenting into the straight. Our Shining Star is a big strong filly who will appreciate some room to move which she will get here in the small field. The Jolly duo have found the perfect race straight from maiden grade.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 1 No. 4 TEQUILA SUNSET – ($5.50)
Trainer Bill Bogarts can find another win with TEQUILA SUNSET after winning two out of his last three races. Jason Holder has been on board and took advantage of a soft early tempo in breaking the maiden over this track and trip. Since stepping to a strong benchmark 62 over the same at Gawler. Rolled forward again to deny all comers in a blanket finish which included Dancing Stream and Deevine. Looks to be no real tempo again in the first here at Strath, and Tequila Sunset may prove hard to catch.
