BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 4 MIMI’S AWARD – ($3.60)

Race 6 is over the stayers trip of the 2400m and MIMI’S AWARD should be hard to beat after a series of good runs in Melbourne. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper has placed at her past five starts and was posted back at Moonee Valley over the 2500m on August 20 before working home into 3rd position behind Themoonlitegambler. She had form around Horrifying earlier this preparation and has gone more than nine lengths faster than standard benchmark in three of her past four runs, which stacks up very well for this. Long time in between drinks since her last win but this does seem easier and she looks to be the one.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 12 WARCHIME – ($5.50)

Going with WARCHIME in Race 4. The Robert Hickmott-trained galloper has had just the three starts and had a few issues when battling behind the handy Aft Cabin at Sandown two starts ago over the 1400m before filling the exacta behind Big Story on the Ballarat Synthetic over the 1400m on August 19, putting a big gap on the rest. A firmer in the early betting, he has drawn well in barrier 3 for this assignment and the step to the 1600m looks like it will suit.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 8 No. 11 WHO SHOT SUZY – ($18)

The sprinters tackle the 975m in a BenchMark 64 and WHO SHOT SUZY is worth thought at the each-way quote. The Simon Zahra-trained galloper resumed at Sandown on August 10 over the 1000m and settled leaders back but was held up from the 400m-200m before sticking on well for 5th, beaten three lengths. Some solid figures out of that and two of the beaten brigade have since gone on to win. Second up last time she could only manage 10th at Bendigo over the 1100m but she stuck on well in what turned out to be a hot form race, while she should be suited by sticking to the shorter trip this time around.
