Race 3 No. 11 JUST A REBEL– ($1.85)
JUST A REBEL is a clear top pick in Race 3 at Terang. The Symon Wilde-trained galloper returns after a two-start campaign back in May that saw her finish runner-up in both of those starts. The first came at the Warrnambool carnival over the 1400m behind Toregene, who has gone on to bigger and better things. Her second start was at Bendigo, filling the exacta behind Bold Hoi Ho. This looks a very winnable starting point and she saves ground from barrier 1 with Josh Cartwright to steer.

Race 6 No. 1 BILL THE BOXER- ($2.60)
BILL THE BOXER can kick start his campaign with a win. The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper has won five of seven career starts and resumed with a five-length win on the Ballarat Synthetic back in May before winning another two then just missing behind Niccolini Vito in a BM84 at Flemington. He went faster than standard benchmark in three of those four runs, including when fresh and carried more than 60kg in two of his wins. The son of Foxwedge will take some beating.

Race 5 No. 4 TAKUMI- ($4.40)
TAKUMI can end a long drought in Race 5 at Terang. The Aaron Purcell gelding has not won in nearly two years but this is the easiest contest he has faced in some time. He comes off a last start 5th at Moonee Valley behind Silver Tycoon in a BenchMark 64, finishing three lengths off the winner and going 1.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is more than nine lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. A big firmer in the early betting, Linda Meech might look to position handy from the barrier to ensure they don’t crawl too much in the early to middle stages.
