The locally-trained OUR SPIDER is in career best form this time in and lines up here looking the one to beat. Last start, the Unusual Suspect gelding made it two wins from his past three starts when he destroyed a BM60 field, putting 4.5 lengths on them, here over the 1850m trip. He covered that trip, 3 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up. He also recorded the fastest final 800m, 600m and 400m sectionals for the race. He meets similar company here and drawn the fence, he gets the gun-run as he maps to box-seat behind the early pace. Emma MacPherson boasts three wins and a runner-up finish from her four rides to date and has the reins again here. Already a three-time winner at the track, he looks the best on the program.

Second-up here, the Lindsay Hatch-trained SPLASHER is a track specialist and looks ideally placed here to bring up his third win at Clifford Park. Last start, the Super One gelding was fresh off a 15-week spell when he beat all but one home in a BM60 Hcp, here over the 870m sprint. He ran home strongly that day but was clearly in need of the run. He is a two-time winner here and has saluted over the 1000m trip here as well. Fitter for that first-up run and perfectly drawn in gate three here, he should prove hard to hold out in this company.

Locally-trained by Michael Nolan, PICCANNINI is third-up here and looks ready to win. Last start, the El Nino gelding was second-up when he beat all but one to the line in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1100m. He ran his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best here. Steph Lacy returns for the ride and drawn the fence, gets the gun-run as he maps to box-seat on settling. He boasts a 50% strike rate at the track and fitter for two runs back, he can take this out.
