BEST BET 🏆

Race 6:  No.10  SIREN ROCK  ($2.50 with Neds)

Another from the Georgie Holt stable is SIREN ROCK who hasn’t put a foot wrong since making the move from the Lee Freedman stables on the Gold Coast and looks the one to beat again today. Last start, the Lonhro gelding was having his third start for Holt when he beat all but one home in a BM65 Hcp, here over 1300m. Settling mid-field, he turned the corner four lengths off the leader and despite rocketing home, missed by a whisker on the line. He ran the trip out, 1.8 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best here by 4 lengths. He also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. That was Nathan Day’s first ride on the five-year-old and he has the job again today. He draws wide in gate nine but has ample time to cross from the 1400m start. In top form at his past three, he looks winning material here again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 3:  No.4  ALLIED COMMAND  ($4 with bet365)

Former Gold Coast galloper ALLIED COMMAND makes his Nth Qld debut today for new trainer Sharlee Hoffman and with a few gear changes here, looks in the mix for a victory. Last start, the Rich Enuff gelding was fourth-up when he finished third in a Coffs Harbour Maiden over 1300m. Always wide and well back, he ran home well to finish less then two lengths from the winner that day. Atherton trainer, Sharlee Hoffman has the knack when it comes to preparing ‘newcomers’ to her stable and nothing changes here as she removes the blinkers and the tongue tie from the five-year-old for this contest. Leading rider, (Lethal) Lacey Morrison is a regular stable rider and has the reins here today. Drawn to do no early work from gate two, he maps to settle mid-field and with a touch of luck on straightening, if he can find clean air, he should prove hard to hold out in this event.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.6  MISS SEATTLE  ($5.50 with Palmerbet)

Locally-trained by Georgie Holt, MISS SEATTLE ticks all the boxes here and only has to contend with a wide gate in her attempt to bring up win number five today. Last start, the Better than Ready mare made it five-straight top-two finishes when she cleaned-up a Class 4 field, here over 1300m. With Ryan Wiggins aboard, she drew the outside gate (9), and after a slow start, mustered up some speed to settle mid-field. She drifted out on straightening and was headed towards the outside fence, but Wiggins got her under control and drove her to the line for an impressive win. She will have to do it tough again today after drawing wide but with Wiggins remaining aboard for the ride, she is capable of playing a major role in this contest. Already a two-time winner on her home track, she looks a sound investment here today.
