Race 5:  No.3  ASGARDA  

With three runners already withdrawn from the race, this makes the job even easier for ASGARDA who is first-up today and boasting a strong fresh record, should be hard to beat here. Last start, the four-year-old mare ended her last campaign on a high as she destroyed a Class 2 field over 1400m on the Albury track. With Kayla Nisbet aboard, she came off the leader’s heels on the turn and once she had them all behind her, that was all she wrote as the mare went on to cross the line five lengths clear in the end. She returned to work last week, winning a trial on this track. Nisbet has two wins and as many runner-up finishes on her from five rides to date and steers the ship again today. Ideally drawn in gate two, she maps to be box-seating on settling and should prove hard to hold out here.

Race 7:  No.4  LETME ENTERTAINYOU  

Local galloper, LETME ENTERTAINYOU resumes today from a 12-week break and after a solid trial effort last week, looks set for a strong performance today. Last start, the Hellbent filly made her racing debut and did it in style as she clobbered her Maiden rivals over 900m on the Albury track. Box-seating to the turn, the $2.40 favourite was eased off the fence by Danny Beasley and soon after took control of the race, going on to win by 1.5 lengths on the line. She finished second in that recent trial, allowing the tearaway leader to do his own thing in front. Racing on home soil for the first time today, Beasley has the reins again and will give her every chance in the run.

Race 6:  No.9  GALAXY REIGN 

Queanbeyan galloper GALAXY REIGN is in career-best form of late and looks a real chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Cluster gelding came off his maiden win (on this track) and franked that effort by going back-to-back, taking out a BM58 over the mile, back on his home track. Jean Van Overmeire was aboard for both runs but hands the reins over to Kayla Nisbet today for her first ride on the five-year-old. He does no early work here jumping from gate one and maps to settle mid-field on the fence. He is in winner’s mode at the moment and looks well placed in this contest to give this field a real fright today.
