The Corstens stable have HEAR ME OUT lining-up here today and coming off back-to-back minor placings, should now be ready to win. Last start, the Capitalist filly made it two bronze medals in a row when she claimed third prize in a Yarra Valley Maiden over 1200m. Beaten two lengths that day, she ran the trip out, 10.2 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last start effort here by more than three lengths and a new personal best for her as well. She drops back to the 1000m sprint here and fitter for two runs in, she looks a genuine winning chance in this event.

Race 2: No.8 AUNT BRIDGE ($8 with Ladbrokes)

Albury galloper AUNT BRIDGE is second-up today and returns for a second crack at the Wagga track. Last start, the Maurice mare was fresh off a lengthy 23-break break when she finished mid-field in a 1200m Maiden when making her first appearance on the Wagga track. She ran home fairly that day, but her lack of condition gave out in the end. Brendan Ward has the reins today and from gate three, maps to settle just off the pace. Fitter for that first-up effort and placed previously when second-up, the four-year-old looks in the mix in this contest.

Race 7: No.4 DEVINE MISS ($10 with Palmerbet)

The Norm Gardner-trained DEVINE MISS comes off two unplaced city efforts here and looks much more at home back on country tracks today. Last start, the Headwater mare finished mid-field in a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1200m on a Heavy 8 at Rosehill. She still managed to run that trip out, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best here by 2 lengths. After four runs this time in, she returns to the country scene and from gate three, maps to settle in the first half-dozen. She has Quayde Krogh aboard for today’s assignment and should now be at her peak. With a trouble-free run here, she can give this a real shake at odds.
