The Scott Collings-trained MOGO MAGIC did nothing but turn heads on debut and a repeat of that performance should see him with back-to-back victories here today. Last start, the Duporth gelding made his racing debut and did it in style when he clobbered his rivals in a 1000m Maiden at the Sapphire Coast. On a Soft 7 that day, he led from the outset and the further they went, the further he increased the gap, putting almost seven lengths on them across the line. Ideally drawn in gate two today, Nick Heywood sticks with him and left in peace out front, he will take a ton of catching here.

Race 4:  No.1  OAKEYS CHOICE  ($2.30 with bet365)

Michelle Ritchie saddles-up OAKEYS CHOICE here and if we overlook his city performance he then lines-up in this contest a genuine winning chance today. The Headwater gelding kick-started his career in glowing fashion with three-straight top-two finishes, all at the Goulburn track. Then last start, he took on a Class 3 Hwy Hcp at Randwick where he found the competition a little tough, finishing down the track, beaten almost five lengths in the end. However, he did run the trip out just 1 length slower than benchmark, which is more than 7 lengths better than this field here. Scott Pollard has the reins today and drawn the fence, he gets the gun-run and maps to be box-seating on settling. Down in grade and returning to country racing, he looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 8:  No.2  IMPROPER  ($3.90 with Palmerbet)

Albury galloper IMPROPER has two podium finishes here from as many visits and looks all set to post her first win on the Wagga track today. Last start, the Starspangledbanner mare returned to her home track where she left the ‘Maiden Club’ and put almost three lengths on them in the 900m contest. Making light work of the Heavy 10 conditions that day, she led from barrier to box, holding them all at bay in the run home. She ran the trip, 5.2 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up and a new personal best as well. The mare also posted the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. She meets Class 1 fillies and mares today and has Simon Miller on board calling the shots. Ideally drawn in gate three, she maps to settle in the first half dozen and even fitter for two runs this time in, she will beating today.
