CUFFE’S GRANGE should be hard to beat in Race 6 of the day at Wang. The five-year-old had excuses when just missing in the Wodonga Cup (1590m), finishing 4th and within a length of the winner before working hard in the early stages and fading into 6th over the 2040m at Moonee Valley on December 9. He should be an improver with the run under his belt and his peak figures came at this stage of his last preparation. He saves ground from barrier 1 this time around and will be ridden by the 1.5kg claimer, Hannah Edgley, who is two from four for the stable, providing a 218& profit on turnover for punters.

Plenty of money for SIX FEET in early markets and the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper should find this easier than a first up effort that saw him finish 9th at Sandown on December 12. On that occasion, the son of Maurice settled midfield and was posted three wide on a hot tempo before finishing four away. He went 1.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is five lengths better than the next best figure that any runner in this race has produced. Improvement to come second up and the step back to country level should see him be hard to beat.
