FIELD OF FLUTES can kick off his campaign with a win. The three-year-old from the Maher/Eustace camp has had three career starts and was a winner when first up at Warracknabeal at his last preparation. That came over the 1000m and it was a five length victory. At his next start, the son of Deep Field tackled a BenchMark 70 at Moonee Valley over the 1000m at the Manikato Stakes meeting and just missed behind Fission. This looks much easier and he gets the 2kg claim from Lachie Overall, who is two from four for the stable, providing a 150% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 8 No.1 GLITTER ’N’ GOLD – ($3.40)

GLITTER ’N’ GOLD can bounce back after missing out at Moonee Valley over the 1600m on March 5. The four-year-old was first up off an eight-week break that day and botched the start badly. She did well to make up the ground to finish four-lengths off them in 7th position. At her last campaign, the Lindsey Smith-trained galloper thrived when getting out to the 2000m, winning two and narrowly missing out in another. The miss came at the track and trip as well as one of the wins. She will no doubt improve off her recent run and Tayla Childs jumps in the saddle to claim the 2kg. The apprentice hoop is one from four for the stable.
