Race 2 No. 13 YELLOW SAM- ($1.70)
YELLOW SAM should be hard to beat at his first run back from a spell. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper has had two career starts and has narrowly missed out in both of those. Debut was over the 1200m at Warrnambool behind Jamarra and he cleared out over the 1100m behind Rivkin back in August. Figures and form from those stack up very favourably against the opposition in this race and he draws well enough in barrier 7 with Jarrod Fry to ride.

Race 8 No. 2 PEIDRA – ($4)
We close off with a BenchMark 64 over the 1300m and PEIDRA can improve off a first up effort that saw him finish 8th behind Netanyahu at Sandown over the 1300m on January 7. The Tom Dabernig-trained galloper settled back that day on a slow tempo and the race turned into a bit of a sit sprint. The son of Pierro will strip fitter for this and likes the Warrnambool track, while this looks easier.
