Race 7 No. 5 FINANCE CHOICE- ($3.20)

FINANCE CHOICE can strike at his first run back from a spell. The Tom Dabernig-trained galloper was solid at his last campaign, winning his first two starts before placing at Flemington in the Grand Handicap (1200m). His first up win came over the 1000m at Warrnambool and he overcome a wide run to hold on from De Long Star in what turned out to be a solid form race. Early market support is a positive and I expect this son of Extreme Choice to be ready. Barrier 4 and John Allen to ride are further ticks.

Race 1 No. 4 MAGNETIC TYCOON- ($5)

We open up with a Maiden over the 1400m and MAGNETIC TYCOON can go close after a debut effort that saw him finish 3rd at Seymour over the 1200m on November 11. On that occasion, the Archie Alexander-trained galloper settled handy but was shuffled back as they cornered before working home well to finish three lengths away. He gets out to the 1400m and should be better for the experience, while this doesn’t look to be an overly strong maiden.

Race 8 No. 9 THE RATTLIN’ BOG- ($9.50)

The Jericho Cup pits the marathon runners up against one another over the 4652m journey and THE RATTLIN’ BOG is right in this . The six-year-old from the Aaron Purcell stable has been solid in his three runs over 3000m. He won at Gawler over the 3340m two starts ago in a race that needs to be seen to be believed with the leader in front by more than 100m at one stage. At his most recent start, the son of Rip Van Winkle attempted to lead all the way before just getting pipped late at Moonee Valley over the 3870m. He looks like he can go all day and is worth thought at the each-way quote
