Race 8: No.1 WASHINGTON TOWERS ($5.50 with BluBet)
Canberra visitor WASHINGTON TOWERS is three starts into this preparation and should now be ready to produce his best today. Last start, the Whittington gelding returned from a stint in the city where he beat all but one home in a Quality Open Sprint back on his home track over the 1000m. With Billy Owen aboard, he looked the winner but found one better on the day, beaten a neck on the line. He makes the four-hour trip north today and sees the track for the first time but drawn nicely in gate five, he can give this contest a real shake today.

Race 6: No.2 HIGH COURT ($6 with Palmerbet)
The Rod Northam-trained HIGH COURT also makes his track debut today and thereabouts at his past few, he is overdue for a win this preparation. Last start, the Star Witness gelding looked home for all money but was grabbed late by a swooper and again had to settle for minor money in an Open Hcp over 1820m at Eagle Farm. He ran that out, 3.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field. This contest is a lot easier and he welcomes back Grant Buckley who has ridden him to seven of his eight career victories. He looks to settle back in the field again from gate seven but watch for a big finish from him here today.

Race 4: No.9 POLYLITHIC ($9.50 with Palmerbet)
Scone galloper POLYLITHIC sees the Wellington track for the first time today and second-up, looks right in the mix in this contest. Last start, the Swiss Ace gelding resumed off a 23-week break and did well to grab third prize in a Class 3 Hcp over 1000m at Tamworth. He ran that out, 1.6 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here. Jeff Penza has the job today and from gate two, the five-year-old maps to be possibly box-seating where he gets first crack at the front-runners. Already a winner when second-up, he can figure here at odds today.
