Werribee Tips 3/2/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 2 DON’T HESITATE – ($4.20)

This looks to be a suitable race for DON’T HESITATE. The four-year-old has had just the three career runs and was a winner on debut at Geelong last year. He resumed at the Rapid Racing meeting over the 1000m at Flemington on January 23 and settled handy before sticking on well for 3rd behind Smile And Wave. Improvement to come at his second run this time in and the Dan McCarthy-trained galloper draws perfectly in barrier 3.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 13 NORMANDY BELLE – ($6)

The opener is a Maiden over the 1600m and NORMANDY BELLE should find this easier than a debut effort that saw her finish 5th at Sandown on January 11. The Maher/Eustace galloper was slowly away that day before working hard to lead in the early stages before fading in the last 200m. This is much weaker and worth noting that the winner out of the Sandown run has since claimed a BenchMark 64 by four lengths. Suspect that is the form for this. Blinkers go off and if the daughter of Almanzor can relax a bit better she can go very close.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 2 COUNTRY’S LIGHT – ($4.80)

Sticking with COUNTRY’S LIGHT in Race 4. The four-year-old couldn’t quite get the job done for up at Moe over the 1600m on January 15 when 3rd but he was a massive improver when stepping up from the 1600m to the 2000m at his last preparation when going from a 3rd in a Maiden at Cranbourne to a runner-up effort at Flemington over the 2000m. The four-year-old then had excuses when 6th in the Mahogany Series Final (2500m). He is likely to settle back but should be strong lat in the piece.
