Race 5 No. 1 CATSKILL MOUNTAIN.– ($2.60)
CATSKILL MOUNTAIN can make it back to back wins after dominating his rivals when resuming at Kyneton on November 28 over the 1875m. In that race, the five-year-old settled back and made a mid-race move before clearing out to win by nearly five lengths. He looks up to the step to BM64 at his second run back and is two from four at the distance.

Race 4 No. 6 AMPHACTOR- ($3.20)
AMPHACTOR has been edging closer in recent times and can break the maiden. The Mark & Levi Kavanagh-trained galloper has had four career starts and has filled the exacta at his past two. Stepping up to the 2000m for the first time at Werribee on December 4, the three-year-old didn’t enjoy the best getaway and was a bit keen while stuck three-deep before sticking on well behind Reservoir Dog, putting a big gap on the rest. That experience should hold him in good stead and he comes into this with fitness. Jamie Mott takes the ride and the pair draw barrier 2.

Race 6 No. 1 EMPEROR OF FRANCE- ($4)
EMPEROR OF FRANCE just about has the class to take this out at his first run back from a spell. The promising prospect from the Price/Kent yard has won two of five and scored at Ballarat in a BenchMark 64 at his last preparation before going close in a Saturday race at Caulfield just before the break. The son of Epaulette might need slightly longer but he was unlucky in his two runs over the 1600m early on at his last preparation, while he has attracted support in the early betting.
