Race 9 No. 6 PRINCESS NEFERTITI – ($1.80)

Best bet comes in the final race of the day and PRINCESS NEFERTITI should be hard to beat after breaking through in style at Donald on August 16. The Maher/Eustace galloper settled handy that day and took over at the top of the straight to win by more than four lengths, while there was another five length gap back to 3rd. The daughter of American Pharoah gets out to the 1590m and gives the impression that this will only suit. Look for her to settle in the lead or box seat from barrier 1.

Race 6 No. 6 TRUST IN ROSIE – ($6)

TRUST IN ROSIE stays under notice after returning with a win in Maiden grade and no reason to suggest why the Luke Oliver-trained galloper can’t go on with it at BenchMark 58. Her victory came at Cranbourne on a Heavy 10 on August 17 over the 1000m, going 0.8 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which are the best last start figures of any runner. Likely to get similar conditions at Wodonga and the lightly raced five-year-old might have improvement to come at just her fourth career start and second this time around.

Race 8 No. 5 ZOUY’S COMET – ($12)

ZOUY’S COMET is worth a play at the each-way quote in Race 8. The seven-year-old mixes his form and was ok last time out on the Ballarat Synthetic when 4th behind Ideal Miss over the 2100m. He battled in harder company in two runs prior to that but worth noting that back in July he overcame a wide run to score at the track and trip in this grade in tough fashion. The Shaun Mathrick galloper is another that comes in with the best last start figures of any runner, while he draws to save plenty of ground from the inside barrier.
