Wodonga Tips 6/2/2023
BEST BET 🏆
Race 6 No. 1 DON’T HESITATE – ($2.10)
DON’T HESITATE can go very close in Race 6. The four-year-old has had just the three career runs and was a winner on debut at Geelong last year. He resumed at the Rapid Racing meeting over the 1000m at Flemington on January 23 and settled handy before sticking on well for 3rd behind Smile And Wave. Improvement to come at his second run this time in and the Dan McCarthy-trained has the class to overcome the tricky barrier.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 5 No. 5 AUTISSODORUM – ($2.80)
This looks to be a suitable assignment for AUTISSODORUM. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper took a bit of time to get going this time in but has been solid at his past two since stepping up to the 2000m. The five-year-old was runner-up in a BenchMark 64 on December 28 at Mornington before dropping to this grade and missing out as a $2.45 favourite at Kilmore at his latest. He was held up until the 200m in that race before looming and just running out of steam late. He went four lengths slower than standard benchmark in that race, which is four lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. The son of Burgundy should be at peak fitness and gets his chance.
BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)
Race 2 No. 5 PRINCESS TOSEN – ($7.50)
This might be a bit of a confidence booster for PRINCESS TOSEN. The Maher/Eustace galloper was in the market at Sandown when resuming at the $5 quote but was a bit plain in the run home, finishing 5th behind Tick Tock Lady. She loomed up at the 300m before fading late to finish four lengths off them. This looks much weaker and suspect she can measure up. Stable take the blinkers off for the first time and she drops back slightly in distance.
