BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.1  VINDICATION  ($4.20 with Palmerbet)

Warwick Farm galloper VINDICATION is four starts into this preparation and looks ready to win. Last start, the Deep Field gelding came off a disappointing unplaced run on his home tack when he improved enough to finish just behind the placegetters in a strong BM72 Midway Hcp over 1100m at Randwick. He raced wide without cover most of the way but still had enough left to grab fourth prize on the day. He ran his last 600m, 8.5 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 5 lengths. This is a big drop in class today and Brett Prebble takes the reins for the first time. He maps to settle in the first half dozen from gate five and looks testing material today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.7  JUSTINA  ($3 with TAB)

The Brad Widdup-trained JUSTINA resumes today and her trial form suggests she is genuine winning chance today. Last start, the Snitzel filly made her racing debut in a Kembla Grange Maiden Plate over 1000m and ridden a treat by Jean Van Overmeire, did enough to take home the chocolates. She ran the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals that day in what was an impressive first-up win. She has been off the scene for the past 18 weeks but has trialled twice, winning her most recent over 900m at Rosehill. Brett Prebble has been locked-in for the ride today where the three-year-old is drawn out but has good early gate speed and maps to settle just off the pace today. If she brings her debut and last trial form with her today, she should prove hard to beat.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.6  PIRAEUS  ($6 with Ladbrokes)

The Team Freedman-trained PIRAEUS is in great touch after three starts and looks a big chance of bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Merchant Navy gelding was the third of our three tips at Muswellbrook who did us proud and saluted in a Class 1 Hcp over 1280m. He came from mid-field that day to arrive just in time to grab the win. He posted the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals for that race. The small rise in trip here can only benefit him now as he lines-up here even fitter with three runs behind him. Brett Prebble has the reins here today, having us hoping he can ride (at least) a treble on the program. The runs are on the board and the three-year-old is capable of pulling it off today.
