Race 4:  No.3  STANCZYK

Tracey Bartley saddles-up STANCZYK here who has finally shaken off the minor-money ghost and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Magic Albert gelding finally broke through for his first career-win after finishing in the minor placings six times from his first seven starts. Aaron Bullock was aboard that day and the punters were very confident of his chances too as they sent him out a white-hot $1.16 favourite for the event. Yet to miss a top-three finish this campaign, he gets the gun-run from gate one today and has Bullock sticking with him as well. He finished third here to end his last preparation so he has the track experience. A trouble-free run here should see him saluting again.

Race 8:  No.8  AZAYAKA

The Rosehill-based AZAYAKA sees the Wyong track for the first time today and in top-shelf form this time in, looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the More Than Ready mare made it two wins from her past three starts when she cleaned-up a Class 1 field over 1000m at Goulburn. She slip-steamed the early speed and on straightening, the run came along the fence and she finished too strong for them, winning by a length on the line. She draws wide today but has the early gate speed to cross and settle better than mid-field. After Zac Wadick’s claim, she carries 4kgs less than last start and at her peak today, she should prove hard to hold out again.

Race 3:  No.7  BLING EMPIRE

The Kris Lees-trained BLIND EMPIRE was impressive on debut and looks set to go one better today. Last start, the Tivaci filly made her first appearance on the track in a 1412m Maiden at Taree and after travelling mid-field most of the way, ran home strongly to beat all but one to the line with Andrew Gibbons in the saddle. Sticking to the fence, she saved plenty of ground and will benefit with the experience. She steps-up to the mile here and strips fitter from that debut run. Dylan Gibbons takes the reins off his father Andrew here and with a clear run to the line, the three-year-old looks a better than even chance of breaking through today.
