Race 1: No.2 SILENT RAINDROPS ($2.40 with Ladbrokes)

The Joe Pride-trained SILENT RAINDROPS is also third-up today and has shown enough this time in to suggest she is ready to win. Last start, the Sebring filly followed the front runners into the straight and when she eventually hit top gear, she charged home to grab third prize in a four-horse battle to the line, beaten less than half a length. She will strip fitter today and the extra distance should also enhance her chances here. She draws sweetly in gate two today and maps to settle just off the speed. Tyler Schiller is in control for this assignment and already placed at the track, and on wet tracks. Scratched from yesterday’s Kembla Grange meeting to run here, she looks poised to break through today.

Race 7: No.7 SHIPSHAPE ($2.70 with Neds)

James Cummings saddles-up SHIPSHAPE here who is yet to miss a podium finish this time in and he looks poised for another one today. Last start, the Astern gelding broke through for his maiden win in a tight finish over 1400m at Hawkesbury. He didn’t have things all his own way that day, held up on the turn, but eventually Zac Lloyd crossed off the leader’s heels and grabbed him right on the post (three lengths ahead of the rest). From gate three, he should enjoy a similar run with Lloyd remaining aboard. Going on that last-start effort, his Wyong debut today looks like being a winning one.

Race 6: No.5 FREE ENTERPRISE ($16.20 with BoomBet)

The Team Snowden-trained FREE ENTERPRISE has found his feet in his past couple of outings and looks a better than even chance of finding the podium again today. Last start, the Capitalist gelding came off his Maiden win at Gosford when he beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Kembla Grange on a Heavy 8 that day. He meets similar company today with Chad Schofield retaining the ride. The forecast wet track shouldn’t be an issue here and fitter for his first three runs, he can give this a real shake at very generous odds today.
