Race 9 No. 15 STAR WALTZ- ($3.80)
Hoping the third emergency, STAR WALTZ, can sneak into the field in Race 9. The Matthew Ellerton mare resumes from a spell and was excellent when fresh at her last campaign, running home for a close up 4th behind No Way Ever in what turned out to be a solid form race. She didn’t match up to them at Caulfield before closing out with a runner-up performance behind Gunna Gunna at Geelong in this grade. Benchmark figures from her three runs were good in comparison to what her rivals in this race have been producing and she should enjoy a nice run near the speed.

Race 7 No. 1 LAKE TAI- ($7)
This looks to be a suitable assignment for LAKE TAI to kick off his campaign. The former Bjorn Baker galloper has had one campaign for the Smiley Chan stable and his best run was arguably when fresh over the 1200m, finishing runner-up in a BenchMark 64 at Terang. He then placed in a further two runs. Likelihood of a Good track suits and this is the easiest race he has faced in some time.
