Eagle Farm Racing Tips 13 June 2026 — can Zahra pinch both?

Eagle Farm Racing Tips 13 June 2026 — can Zahra pinch both?

Mark Zahra rocks up to Eagle Farm with a pair that look like they’ve been placed to win, and I’m not keen to overcomplicate it. Yellow Jersey brings the sort of fresh form that scares a small field into running for second, and in the 2YO race Marffiano is the kind of early-season type that can take a big step just by turning up to the right assignment.

It’s a tight little two-race meeting on the turf, but there’s still enough going on to find a proper play and a couple of angles worth filing away. Below you’ll get my Eagle Farm racing tips with a clear betting stance, plus the key course patterns for the riders and stables actually engaged today.

Eagle Farm — the setup

Going isn’t provided in the racecard, so I’m treating this like a standard Eagle Farm Saturday where position and timing matter more than any one “pattern”. With that said, course history on today’s runners is mostly thin. Plenty of one-run resumes. You can use it as a supporting note, not a sledgehammer.

One runner worth flagging on the track itself: Victoria Road has placed in two of three Eagle Farm appearances. That’s not “specialist” territory, but it’s a handy little comfort blanket in a race where several arrive with either one look here or none.

Race-by-race tips

Race 1: The Wayne Wilson — 11:43, 1750

I’m with Yellow Jersey. The form line is the simplest on the page and the strongest: 1113- says this horse has been winning more often than not, and the stable has gone straight to Zahra. From barrier 4 he can land midfield with cover and get the last crack while others are spending fuel from ugly spots.

The race has a few runners who can make it messy tactically, but not many who look like they’re improving. War Eternal arrives as the obvious “in-form” danger on paper, winning his last two (…6311). He also won on his only Eagle Farm start, which is a nice note, but it’s still only one visit. He’s drawn 12 as well, and in this sort of race that can turn a good horse into a horse with problems.

The value runner for multiples is Glass Of Rose. The weight drop to 125.6 is real, and the current form is hot (551081). He’s had three goes at Eagle Farm and won once, which is fine, but I mainly like him because he profiles as the one who can land in the right spot from gate 8 if the leaders overdo it.

Staking: Win bet Yellow Jersey. Saver quinella with War Eternal if you want insurance against the wide gate being irrelevant.

Race 2: Ticketmaster Oxlade Stakes — 12:18, 1312

This is the race where the map matters more than the resumes. Big juvenile field, a few with early dash, and plenty drawn where they’ll need luck. I want Portico. He’s the one coming through a proper progression (8321) and he lands Tommy Berry, who rides Eagle Farm like someone who knows where the winning lanes are. Freedman also places his Eagle Farm runners well over volume: 46 runners here for 10 wins and 24 placings.

The danger is Bowdene. That form (2-411) reads like a horse who’s figured it out, and barrier 2 lets him hold a position without burning. If he crosses and controls, this turns into a sprint and Portico has to be sharp at the top of the straight.

My “respect but don’t want to take short” runner is Hard To Exceed. He’s unbeaten (one start, one win) which is always scary in a 2YO, but gate 16 is a genuine ask at 1312. Nash Rawiller takes the ride, yet he’s winless from six Eagle Farm rides and only one place there. That doesn’t rule the horse out, it just makes me less forgiving if the run gets messy.

One more for the multiples: Warrego River (form 91) looks like the Gollan yard has him going the right way and the draw (6) gives D Moor options.

Staking: Win bet Portico. Exacta saver Portico over Bowdene. Keep it tight.

The plays

NAP: Portico (Race 2, 12:18). He’s the only runner on the card who ticks progression, stable intent, and a rider booking that makes sense for a tricky 2YO setup. Freedman’s Eagle Farm strike rate holds up because it’s built on volume, not a couple of lucky pops.

Value: Glass Of Rose (Race 1, 11:43) as a place or a small each-way look if the market underestimates the weight relief and the current form spike. He’s not bulletproof, but he’s the one who can run past tired legs late.

Banker for multis: Yellow Jersey (Race 1, 11:43). His recent profile says “reliable”, and he’s drawn to get the run without needing hero rides from a wide gate.

Each-way: Bowdene (Race 2, 12:18). Gate 2 and a last-start winning pattern gives you a clean each-way setup in a race where plenty will lose before the turn.

Course angle to keep: When Freedman brings them to Eagle Farm, they run well often enough to trust the placement. Keep an eye on his next juvenile runner here, especially if Berry turns up again.
