The danger is Mandarin (gate 16). The form line “2652-” hints she’s been around the mark without breaking through, and if they go too hard early, the wide gate matters less because she can simply roll across late and make it about stamina from the 600m. The question is whether she’s going to be posted deep for too long, and that’s how these races get lost.
Keep an eye on Green Amber as the each-way type. She’s placed on her only Naracoorte start, and Tala Hutchinson rides the track well enough with four rides here for three placings. It’s a small-ish sample, but it’s at least a hint she judges tempo and corners on this circuit.

From the inside draw, Connor Murtagh can make this a simple race: hold a spot, peel at the right time, and force the others to go past her rather than hoping they stop.
Recent form over the last 90 days backs up the consistency angle: she’s had three runs for two placings. That’s not brilliance, but it’s reliability in a race full of question marks.
The main threat is the horse with the upside: Just Comet (gate 12) comes off a debut third, and that’s often the strongest single piece of exposed evidence in a maiden like this. The catch is the draw. Brooke King will have to make a call early: push forward and risk being trapped wide, or snag back and hope the race opens up. If Debralee gets her soft run from barrier 2, Just Comet needs to be a fair bit better to run her down cleanly.
I’ll also respect Kayla Kruzen (gate 5). The “5-2” line tells you she improved sharply second-up, and Kayla Crowther has ridden five times at Naracoorte for two placings. Again, not a massive sample, but she’s not guessing out there.

NAP: Debralee (Race 2, 14:11). Inside draw, race experience, and a recent profile that says she keeps turning up and putting herself in the finish. In these maidens, I’d rather back the runner with a map advantage and a history of competing than the one needing everything to go right.
Value: Jewels Captain (Race 1, 13:33). She hasn’t been cashing in, but the recent runs are good enough for this grade and the race shape should let her stalk instead of being forced to do something silly early.
Banker for multis: Debralee to run top two. She doesn’t have a killer punch yet, but she gives you effort and puts herself into the race.
Each-way: Green Amber (Race 1). Placed on her only Naracoorte visit and drops in with a light weight. She doesn’t need to be a star to land in the money if the wide draws do each other damage.
