Flemington Tips 1/10/2022
BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 3 GIGA KICK- ($2.40)
GIGA KICK looks to be a beauty and he clearly the one to beat in the Danehill Stakes (1100m) at Flemington. The Clayton Douglas-trained galloper has had three starts for three wins and arrived in time to score at Caulfield on August 13, taking out the Vain Stakes (1100m) ahead of Alpha One. The son of Scissor Kick went 8.5 lengths faster than standard that day and they are the best figures that any horse in this race has produced. He produced the fastest time of the morning in a recent jump out at Mornington and draws the grandstand side.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6 No. 8 LUNAR FLARE- ($10)
The Bart Cummings is one of the big races at Flemington on Saturday and I am keen on LUNAR FLARE at the each-way quote. The seven-year-old gets out to the 2500m after a couple of runs at Caulfield that saw her run on for 6th in both the Heatherlie Handicap (1700m) and the Naturalism Stakes (2000m). In the Naturalism she settled back before producing the fastest last 400m and fastest last 200m. At this stage last year, the Grahame Begg-trained galloper begun to hit her straps, taking out the Harry White Stakes (2400m) at Mornington before claiming the Moonee Valley Cup (2500m). She races well at Flemington and should enjoy a nice run in transit from barrier 3.
BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)
Race 9 No. 3 RED SUN SENSATION- ($10)
Best Value comes up in the final race of the day and it is RED SUN SENSATION that can go close for the Peter Moody stable. He was excellent when resuming in what has proven to be a solid form race when winning over the 1230m at Geelong. He was then ran off his feet a bit when they went very hard at Moonee Valley over the 1500m in a race taken out by Castillian. He went 9.6 lengths faster than standard in that race. Slight question mark over the form with the runner-up Major Beel since finishing 3rd at Flemington over the 1800m but that galloper did have a couple of excuses. Four weeks in between runs suits and he has attracted a bit of support in the early betting.
