The Ben Hull-trained HALFAHOPE is second-up here and after a solid first-up performance, looks set to go one better today. Last start, the Outreach gelding resumed off a 12-month absence when he came within a long neck from winning a BM58 Hcp, here over 1200m. Lumping 62kgs on fresh legs, he was three-wide most of the way but still found enough to beat all but one home that day. Boasting a strong second-up record, with two wins on his resume, a clear run to the line here should see him hard to hold out in this contest.

Gold Coast galloper ZOUPERB sees the Murwillumbah track for the first time today and in great form after three starts in, she looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Zoustar mare made it a hat-trick of podium finishes when she took home second prize in a BM62 Hcp over 1200m on her home track. Elione Chaves was aboard for the mare’s past two starts and sticks with her today. She should find this assignment a little easier against country competition and fourth-up here, she should be at her peak for this event.

Jack Bruce saddles-up TOO MUCH CLASS here who is third-up today and after two city runs, looks much better placed against this company and is capable of giving this a real shake. Last start, the Smart Missile mare took on a BM78 over 1400m at Eagle Farm and after settling back in the field, finished a little one-paced, almost five lengths from the winner. The step-up in trip and drop in grade looks ideal for her today as she strips fitter with those two runs under her belt. She is already a winner when third-up and boasts four wins at the trip as well. Ben Looker is the new pilot today and avoiding any dramas here, the mare looks a serious contender for the major prize today at odds.
