BEST BET 🏆
Race 2: No.5 PRESS LIGHTLY ($3 with Ladbrokes)
Port Macquarie galloper PRESS LIGHTLY sees the track for the first time today and second-up, looks a major player in this contest. Last start, the Press Statement mare was fresh off a lengthy 22 weeks off the scene when she managed to beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1181m at Grafton. The lightly raced mare has found the podium in five of her six career starts and today is joined by Ash Morgan and from gate five, she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. Fitter for that first-up run, she looks set to go one better today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.4 GOLD LOVER ($4.20 with Bet Right)
The Tamworth-based GOLD LOVER also makes her Muswellbrook debut today and fitter for one run back, looks poised for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Sooboog filly had her first start for new trainer Holly Williams and did it in style by breaking through for her maiden win over the 900m sprint at Scone. Heavily backed ($3 – $1.85), she led from the outset and gave the field a galloping lesson, putting more than two lengths on them across the line. She jumps from gate 10 today and if she can overcome the wide alley, she should prove hard to beat here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.6 DIVINE SINNER ($6.10 with BoomBet)
The Cameron Crockett-trained DIVINE SINNER is in top-shelf form at the moment and looks a serious chance at bringing up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Divine Prophet gelding made it back-to-back wins when he stepped-up from BM58 company and won a Class 2 Hcp over 1000m at Tamworth. With Jake Pracey-Holmes aboard, he came from the back half of the field, took the turn the widest of them all and finished best to get the result. The four-year-old has found the podium six times from his eight career-starts to date (winning three of those) and looks well in the mix of going on with it here at odds.
