Best Bet comes in the final race of the day and it is CAESAR that should be hard to beat. The four-year-old has some solid recent form and was an unlucky 4th at Moonee Valley on December 24 over the 1600m. Prior to that, the Michael Moroney-trained galloper was runner-up behind Worsfold, who has since come out and won again at Sandown. The son of Proisir should enjoy the favours from barrier 3 and gets the 3kg claim for Thomas Prebble.

Race 7 No. 1 APACHE STAR- ($10)
APACHE STAR should find this much easier than a first up assignment that saw him finish 12th at Sandown in a BenchMark 70, beaten seven lengths. The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper was posted three and four deep in the Boxing Day affair before battling late. He faces a decent class drop and he was a winner the last time he stepped out in BM58 company. He is another that gets the claim from Thomas Prebble.
