He’s not blessed with the softest alley, so the ride matters. But if he can slot in without burning petrol, he looks like the one most likely to sustain a run from the 600m and force the others to prove they’ve got a winning blow.
The main danger for me is Ho Aloha (barrier 10, 125.6lb). The profile reads like a horse who keeps bumping into one or two better on the day: 2-56324. The light weight helps in a race where several carry 130.0lb, and Jean Van Overmeire is a better rider than his Canberra Acton record suggests. He’s had three rides here without a placing, but that’s a tiny sample and doesn’t scare me off the horse.
