Tattersall’s Tiara Nominations – When Are Entries Received?

The Tattersall’s Tiara is a race that is restricted to fillies and mares. It is held over 1400m at Eagle Farm Racecourse and is the last Group 1 feature of the winter.

Nominations for the 2022 Tattersall’s Tiara take place at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 20.

Like a lot of Queensland features, Sydney and Melbourne trainers will often bring their horses up for the carnival and the Tattersall’s Tiara is no different.

Tattersall’s Tiara Barrier Draw – When Is The Field Announced?

The 2022 final field and barrier draw is announced shortly after 9:00am on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Once the final field of runners has been determined, barriers are then randomly generated for each horse using computer software that produces thoroughbred racing fields.

Is There Any Barrier Draw Bias in the Tattersall’s Tiara?

The Tattersall’s Tiara is a relatively new race compared to a lot of Group 1 features which date back 50 or more years.

First run in 1989, the Tattersall’s Tiara, sometimes known as the Tatt’s Tiara, does not boast any barrier draw bias which is a great thing for racing. The last thing you want to see is a really obvious track or barrier draw bias.

Fillies and mares have been successful from barriers as wide as 15 and 16 – this means connections can draw wide and still have faith that their runner (if good enough) will be able to salute the judge in first place.
