Tattersall’s Tiara Nominations – When Are Entries Received?

The Tattersall’s Tiara is a race that is restricted to fillies and mares. It is held over 1400m at Eagle Farm Racecourse and is the last Group 1 feature of the winter.

Nominations for the 2024 Tattersall’s Tiara take place at 11:00am on Monday, June 24.

Like a lot of Queensland features, Sydney and Melbourne trainers will often bring their horses up for the carnival and the Tattersall’s Tiara is no different.

Tattersall’s Tiara Barrier Draw – When Is The Field Announced?

The 2024 final field and barrier draw is announced shortly after 9:00am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Is There Any Barrier Draw Bias in the Tattersall’s Tiara?

The Tattersall’s Tiara is a relatively new race compared to a lot of Group 1 features which date back 50 or more years.

First run in 1989, the Tattersall’s Tiara, sometimes known as the Tatt’s Tiara, does not boast any barrier draw bias which is a great thing for racing. The last thing you want to see is a really obvious track or barrier draw bias.

Fillies and mares have been successful from barriers as wide as 15 and 16 – this means connections can draw wide and still have faith that their runner (if good enough) will be able to salute the judge in first place.
