BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.1  JUST LIKE LIAM  ($2 with Palmerbet)

Albury galloper, JUST LIKE LIAM, is on a seven-day back-up here and in top-shelf form, looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Magic Albert gelding produced his best effort to date when he destroyed a Class 1 field over 1400m on his home track. Simon Miller rode him a treat that day, and soon after straightening, took over and left the ten-strong field to fight out the minors as he crossed the line 5.5 lengths clear of the pack. Miller has been aboard for all six career-starts and has the job again for this assignment. The four-year-old won his maiden here three starts back and jumping from gate two today, surely just bad luck can cost him victory in this event.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5:  No.3  OH NO MIKKI  ($4.20 with bet365)

The Wodonga-based galloper, OH NO MIKKI, is second-up off an 18-week break today and ideally drawn for this contest. Last start, the Mikki Isle gelding came off a barrier trial win at Wagga when on the same track, came from back in the field to snatch victory in a BM58 over the 1000m sprint. Well ridden by Nick Souquet that day, he threaded his way through tiring traffic to find clean air and the winning post, impressing with his half length victory over the 14-strong field. Two starts here have seen him miss the podium both times but already a two-time winner when second-up, that could all change today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.4  TALLINGAS PRINCE  ($6 with Ladbrokes)

The Ben Brisbourne-trained TALLINGAS PRINCE comes north of the border and sees the Wodonga track for the first time and second-up today, can figure in the finish for this contest. Last start, the Wangaratta-based gelding was fresh off a lengthy 22-week absence when he lined-up in a BM58 over the mile at Wodonga where he finished mid-field after settling near the tail. Fitter for that run and a second-up winner last preparation, he gets the gun-run from gate one today and Connor Murtagh sticks with him for this assignment. With a trouble-free run here, his track debut could be a winning one.
