Race 9 No. 10 APEROL BLITZ- ($2.95)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for APEROL BLITZ to kick off her campaign. The Nick Ryan-trained galloper resumes and was a debut winner at Benalla at his last preparation before closing off with a 3rd at Sandown in a BenchMark 64 race that produced a few winners. He should enjoy a solid tempo in front of him, which will suit, while the 2kg claim for Thomas Prebble gets him down to a winnable weight. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 6 No 1 FREE MARKET – ($6.60)

FREE MARKET can just about make it back to back wins when he steps out in Race 6. The four-year-old saves his best for Echuca and was a strong winner over the 1100m here on July 17, settling handy before winning from Ceejay. The son of Capitalist went 3.1 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is five lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. He rises 2kg in weight for this but should be at peak fitness and gets the services of Daniel Stackhouse.
