Race 2:  No.5  FUNAMBULIST  ($2.95 with BoomBet)

The Annabel Neasham-trained FUNAMBULIST is in top-shelf form this time in and making his QLD debut here, looks a strong chance of making it five-straight podium finishes in this contest. Last start, the British-bred gelding made it back-to-back runner-up finishes when he beat all but one home in a BM70 Hcp over 2400m on Sandown’s Hillside circuit. That was his second run over the distance, and the second time he finished runner-up. Jag Guthmann-Chester has the reins here and in peak form and condition, he will take beating here.

Race 4:  No.3  KANAZAWA  ($2.85 with BoomBet)

Formerly with James Cummings, KANAZAWA has his second start for the O’Dea & Hoysted stable here and seeing the Eagle Farm track for the first time, looks the testing material in this line-up. Last start, the Lonhro gelding was fresh off a 21-week break when he finished third, beaten a length, in a BM78 over 1200m at Doomben. Cejay Graham was aboard that day and along with her 2kg claim, has the reins again for this assignment. Placed twice previously when second-up, the four-year-old will strip fitter for that first-up run and looks well placed here for a bold showing in this contest.

Race 8:  No.11  ENTERPRISE POMME  ($8.50 with Ladbrokes)

Another from the O’Dea & Hoysted stable is ENTERPRISE POMME who lines-up here, three starts into this campaign and ticking all boxes that count, looks a value bet in this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans mare was third-up when she beat all but one home in a BM85 Hcp, here over 1200m. She travelled three-wide without cover to the turn, took the lead soon after, but was grabbed in the final 100m, settling for second prize that day. She will at her peak for this after three runs back and after Cejay Graham’s claim, carries just 53.5kgs here. Six previous starts at the track and distance have resulted in two wins and three minor placings so she knows her way around the Eagle Farm 1200m trip. Currently at each-way odds, she looks the ticket here.
