BEST BET 🏆

Race 7:  No.10  CHAIN OF GOLD

The Cody Mo-trained CHAIN OF GOLD has been up and down with his form this time in but showed enough last start to suggest he can get away with a win in this contest tonight. Last start, the Lyle Hewitson was aboard and given little choice but to drop back at the start after drawing the outside gate (12). There he settled and followed them all into the home straight where he Hewitson asked him for a final effort and finding the gaps, he flew home to grab third prize, just two or three hops from winning the race. He comes up with gate two tonight where he does no early work and will save a ton of ground as he settles near mid-field with plenty of cover. Zac Purton is the new pilot and with a little luck in running, he can bring up his first win for this campaign.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 9:  No.8  SUPER JOY N FUN

The Benno Yung-trained SUPER JOY N FUN is first-up tonight as an unbeaten three-year-old and coming off two trials, should be ready to strut his stuff in this contest. Last start, the NZ sired gelding went back-to-back when he took out a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m with Jerry Chau in the saddle. He was then put out for 10 weeks before resuming here. Premiership leading rider, Zac Purton is the new pilot for this assignment who boasts a 22% success rate with the stable. Unbeaten at the track and distance and getting the gun-run from gate one tonight, he should take plenty of beating here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8:  No.3  COMET SPLENDIDO

Danny Shum saddles-up COMET SPLENDIDO here who is three starts back from a 19-week break and now looks ready to win. Last start, the War Command gelding put in his best effort for this campaign when he finished just behind the placegetters in a Class 4, here over 1650m, beaten less than two lengths on the line. It’s been a long time between drinks for the six-year-old who hasn’t won for more than 18 months but he should be in peak fitness tonight with those three runs under his belt and maps to settle better than mid-field with cover from barrier eight. He is already a winner at the track and distance and gets the opportunity to do it again tonight.
