BEST BET 🏆

Race 5:  No.3  I SAY BOOM  ($7 with Unibet)

Formerly with the Team Snowden stable and now with Matt Dunn, I SAY BOOM has been knocking on the door since resuming and looks a serious player here to break through today. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom gelding arrived a little too late when finishing fourth in a 1300m Maiden Hcp at Hawkesbury. He ran his last 600m, 1 length quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than 2 lengths. Dunn is fitting the tongue tie here for the first time with Ash Morgan taking the reins for his first ride on the three-year-old. He does no early work from gate three and fitter for those two recent starts, he should take beating today.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.6  MUST  ($8 with TAB)

Tony Gollan saddles-up the first three in the market here but the Chris Waller-trained MUST looks a good chance of spoiling the party today. Last start, the Mikki Isle gelding was third-up when he hit his straps and broke through for his Maiden win, here over 1350m. With James Orman aboard, he raced a little erratically and did a lot wrong, but still got the job done, posting the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well that day. Orman sticks with him here and in the blinkers for the first time, he should take beating in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 9:  No.2  CARRIBEAN KING  ($5.50 with Palmerbet)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained CARRIBEAN KING is second-up today and will improve on his first-up effort as he drops in grade here. Last start, the Sweynesse gelding battled hard against harder opposition when finishing mid-field in a BM78 Hcp over 1050m at Doomben. Whilst out of the money, he still ran his last 600m, 3.8 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. He drops in class today and has Angela Jones in the saddle for the first time. Placed twice in two previous second-up appearances, he draws sweetly in gate four today and coming off a city class contest, he looks a sure-fire contender here.
