Race 4 No. 12 MONOMAKH – ($4.60)
MONOMAKH can chalk up the first win of his career when she steps out in Race 4. The Godolphin galloper battled on wet tracks at her initial preparation but showed improvement over the 1457m here when second up, finishing runner-up behind Our Warrior. She settled leaders back and was held up at the top of the straight before running on to go 4.8 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Improvement to come stepping up to the mile and with Fred Kersley on board she can break through.

Race 8 No. 2 PAINT ME RED – ($7.50)
PAINT ME RED can end the day with a win. The six-year-old has been edging closer of late and stepped out at Bendigo on February 12, finishing 4th after attempting to lead all the way. He attracted plenty of support in the market that day firming into $10 from $15 before just going down late to finish a length off Heavently Emperor. This looks slightly easier and worth noting that he is one win and one minor from two starts at the track and trip. Matt Chadwick claims the 2kg. Small sample size but he is two from seven for the stable, providing a 123% profit on turnover for punters.
