Race 2 No. 1 GRAYSONG- ($1.75)

GRAYSONG should be hard to beat in Race 2. The Mick Price/Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper has had two runs this time in and needed the run first up before heading here on July 22, finishing 3rd behind Tiffany Valentine. He led that day before just fading late, going 2.4 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is six lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. Improvement to come third up and with Thomas Stockdale in the saddle, he gets his chance to break through

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 1 No 1 DUAL PRESSURE- ($5.50)

A field of just six runners feature in the opener and it is DUAL PRESSURE that can prevail. The Matthew Ellerton-trained galloper was ordinary on debut before showing improvement at his next start, which came at the track and trip on August 1. On that occasion, he settled just worse than midfield and was the best of those that ran on but couldn’t quite catch Merrigold. The son of Denman did enjoy a bit of a gap on the rest of them. That experience should hold him in good stead, while Damian Lane jumps on board and the pair draw barrier 2.

Race 8 No 4 NEVADA BREEZE- ($9)

We close off with a BenchMark 58 over the 1200m and NEVADA BREEZE can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up behind Explosive Rosie over the 1200m on August 8. He has been knocking on the door and was 3rd prior to that when resuming on the Ballarat Synthetic. The five-year-old should be ready to peak for this assignment and draws perfectly in barrier 5 with Jake Noonan to ride.
