Race 6 No. 1 ASHY BOY.- ($2.55)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for ASHY BOY. The five-year-old has been thereabouts this campaign and last stepped out at Warrnambool in a BenchMark 78 on August 19, finishing 3rd behind Booker Tee over the 2000m. He settled handy that day but was outgunned late in what was a blanket finish. The son of Star Witness drops to BM64 for this and gives the indication that he will have no trouble getting out to the 2350m for the first time.

Race 4 No 8 FUTURE MONARCH  – ($3.15)

FUTURE MONARCH can go close to chalking up her first career win when she steps out in Race 4. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper has had the four career runs for two runner-up performances and resumed with an eye-catching performance to fill the exacta behind Statesmanship at Geelong on August 11. She settled back on what was a very slow tempo that day before reeling off the fastest splits over the last 600m. Second up at her only other preparation, the daughter of Pierro was a five length improver on benchmark figures when runner-up at Ballarat. She can go on with it here.
