$5 Russian Camelot to run 1st or 2nd in the Cox Plate

Hard to imagine that a horse that has been favourite since Palmerbet betting opened and comes into his Grand Final in super form being offered up at $5 to run 1st or 2nd in the G1 Cox Plate but that is what punters are being dished up this weekend.

The first time you set eyes on RUSSIAN CAMELOT it is hard not to be impressed with his presence. The hype on him since he won the G1 South Australian Derby has been enormous and the Danny O’Brien stable have always stamped him as a W.S.Cox Plate contender. Although he has topped betting for the Melbourne Cup in early markets the Weight-For-Age Championship has always been his target.

Stunning Bay/Brown horse born in the Northern Hemisphere by the 2012 GB Epsom Derby winning sire Camelot this bloke has all the hallmarks of dual Cox Plate winner So You Think. An imposing figure who commands the mounting yard with his arrogance and backs it up when he hits the racetrack.

He comes into this race at only his 9th start and frightening to think he has plenty of improvement left in him. Damien Oliver knows how to win a Cox Plate having piloted both Dane Ripper (1997) and Northerly (2001) to success. The combination with Danny O’Brien has been dominant in recent years and they get to add another Group 1 trophy to the cabinet.

The O’Brien stable have taken all before them in recent years and come off a 2019 Melbourne Cup win with Vow And Declare. He has had Cox Plate success with Shamus Award and looks to have RUSSIAN CAMELOT at his peak physical fitness for The Valley.

RUSSIAN CAMELOT TO RUN 1st or 2nd @ $5 is a Palmerbet offer too good to refuse.
