2022 All Aged Stakes Day Randwick – Who is Tim Clark’s Best Ride?
Group 1 winning jockey Tim Clark gives Racing Base his best ride for the final day of the Randwick autumn carnival.
Clark reunites with In The Congo in the All Aged Stakes. He hasn’t ridden the horse since the pair defeated Anamoe in the Group 1 Golden Rose last September.
In The Congo has been partnered by Tommy Berry this prep but with Berry electing to ride Mounga in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes, Clark gets back aboard one of the country’s finest three-year-olds.
Race No. | No. / Horse Name / Barrier | Clark’s Comment |
1 | 11. Beau Factor (6) | Comes off strong last start win, drops 4.5kg and gets a good draw plus he can bang himself on speed. |
2 | 10. Zorocat (14) | Been out of form of late but if she finds her best she can win this. |
3 | 1. War Eternal (NZ) (11) | Might not have seen out the 2400m in the Derby but his form before that in the Randwick Guineas and Alister Clark was terrific, back to 2000m a big tick. |
5 | 4. Cap Estel (10) | Racing well and loves these conditions, hard fit and has the speed to put herself in the race. I reckon coming back to 1400m will suit her better than the mile. |
8 | 14. In The Congo (10) | Both his two runs this prep have been solid and the drier the track the better. That’s because he likes to skip away from them but he struggles to do that on wet going. Gai’s horses have a terrific record on the back-up and even though he’s not a standout, he’s my best ride for the day. |
9 | 13. Ashman (19) | Drawn out but he has speed and hopefully he can overcome the draw and be in the first four without being wide. I thought his last run was good, he’s just taking a few runs to get to his peak. |
