Field of 16 declared for Blue Diamond Stakes
The final field of 16 two-year-olds has been declared for Saturday’s Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.
A total of 10 colts and geldings and six fillies will contest Melbourne’s premier juvenile event as they compete for $1.5 million in prizemoney.
Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies) winner Revolutionary Miss is the sole role for Peter and Paul Snowden who have booked Jamie Kah to steer their mount.
Lofty Strike who won the colts version of the Prelude will be aiming to make it three in a row for trainer Julius Sandhu who is looking for his first Group 1 win.
Peter Moody has three youngsters in the final field with Rampant Lion leading the charge from Merchant Prince and Waltz On By.
Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes will saddle up two chances in Semillion and Sebonack, while Ciaron Maher and David Eustace are the only other trainers with two runners (Counttheheadlights and Hafey).
