RACE OF THE DAY
RACE 8 LA CHEVALEE
Broke the class average by more than three lengths and the last 200m in 13.44 was still a length faster than average.
La Chevalee was third-up here and she’s clearly peaked. It’s her fourth win on heavy ground and she is one to follow into the winter if these tracks keep turning up wet. She might even pinch a weak stakes race in Queensland if she gets the right conditions. Runner-up, Bonny Ezra, clocked the best 200m splits on three occasions [1000m-800m, 800m-600m, 600m-400m] before peaking on her run. She was tested over 2400m in New Zealand and she should be ready to peak next run.

QUINTELLO R6
How bout the massive drift for this Maher-Eustace trained mare?!? She was $2.40 in Wednesday then crunched into odds on with Sportsbet by Friday morning. She drifted slightly on race morning to $2.25 but was gapped by the market inside the last 20 mins to start $3.50. It didn’t matter as she pounded them by three lengths again clocking good time. There was a mid-race slow-down so her overall figure was thwarted slightly but it leaves plenty in the tank for us to follow her. She is stakes class.
