Marabi to jump from barrier 8 in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes

A full field of 14 runners and 1 emergency will take their place in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Unbeaten galloper Marabi will jump from barrier 8 and will be looking to dictate terms once again at Moonee Valley with Ben Allen riding for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.

Five-year-old gelding, The Astrologist, who was Group 1 placed last start in the Newmarket Stakes has drawn barrier 1. It will be his first ever run at the track with Fred Kersley remaining in the saddle.

Proven Group horse Trekking has drawn barrier 4 with Damien Oliver. He has had five runs at the track for four top three finishes, including a third in the Group 1 Moir Stakes last year.

South Australian jockey jake Toeroek will need a bit of luck, with Kemalpasa drawing barrier 12 for Richard and Chantelle Jolly.

Similar will be required from Craig William with September Run being handed barrier 11. The four-year-old mare returned to her best last start with a top three finish in the G1 Newmarket.
